Corporate AI Statement

Telakus Inc. develops and manages AI learning programs for the social sector — helping community foundations and the networks they serve adopt artificial intelligence with confidence. This statement describes how we use and teach AI.

Principles

  • Human in the loop. AI augments people; it does not replace human judgment in grantmaking, governance, or community decisions.
  • Transparency. When AI materially shapes content or recommendations we publish, we say so.
  • Privacy & data protection. We do not feed client or community data into public AI tools without explicit permission, and we teach the same discipline in our programs.
  • Accuracy. AI output is reviewed by qualified humans before it informs decisions or is shared externally.
  • Bias & fairness. We acknowledge that models can reflect bias, and we coach practitioners to test, question, and correct AI output accordingly.
  • Security. We favor vendors and configurations that do not train on customer data and that meet reasonable security standards.

How we use AI internally

We use mainstream AI tools (such as large language models and transcription tools) to draft materials, summarize meetings, and accelerate research. A human reviews and edits all client-facing output. We do not use AI to make automated decisions about individuals.

What we ask of partners

We encourage partners and program participants to adopt clear internal AI use policies, including approved tools, data handling rules, disclosure expectations, and review steps before AI output is used in consequential work.

Updates

AI is evolving quickly. We revisit this statement as our practices and the broader landscape change.
